American Heroes Air Show - June 18, 2016

The American Heroes Air Show was held on June 18, 2016 at the Hansen Dam Recreational Area in Los Angeles.  Over a dozen helicopters representing LAPD, LASD, LAFD, LACoFD, CalFire, DEA, US Customs, USAF and more were on hand for spectators as well as several other static and interactive displays.

Fire Service Day - LACoFD Station 129 - May 14, 2016

Members of the public attended the Fire Service Day event held at Los Angeles County Fire Department station 129 in Lancaster, California on May 14, 2016. The event featured a chili cook-off, interactive displays and demonstrations by the Sikorsky S-70A Firehawk helicopter, Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), live auto fires, physical rescues, hoist rescues, helicopter water drops and more. © DurlingMedia

"Ash IC" - Burbank, CA - June 6, 2015

At about 1912 hrs. on June 6, 2015 the Burbank Fire Department responded to a reported apartment house fire in the 100 block of Ash Street. Arriving units reported smoke and fire visible from a 2nd story apartment, quickly escalating the incident to a 2nd alarm. Swift action by responding units led to a quick knock down on the fire. Although the residents were not home at the time of the fire, their poodle Coco was treated by BFD personnel and reunited with her owners. ©2015 Craig Durling

 

LACoFD Firehawk Demo - Fire Service Day - May 31, 2014

The Sikorsky S-70A Firehawk (Copter 15) performed demonstrations for the public throughout the Fire Service Day event at LA County Fire Station 129 in Lancaster, CA on May 31, 2014.  An 13,000+ people attended the popular annual event.  This is a brief compilation shot and edited with my iPhone 5. Cabrini IC - LAFD Rollover Traffic Collision - March 8, 2014

At around noon on March 8, 2014 units from LAFD and Burbank Fire responded to a rollover traffic collision with a sheared hydrant at Cabrini Drive and Glenoaks Blvd in Sun Valley. The driver of a white van, who was transported to an area hospital, reportedly struck several parked cars and trees coming down Cabrini Drive ultimately. One parked vehicle was struck so hard it rolled over onto the grass after being pushed for over 30 feet. No other injuries were reported and the exact cause of the collision is under investigation by LAPD.
