You may already know that often to pass the time in longer flights I make little cell phone videos of the trip. Nothing special, seriously just a dumb time killer. Enjoy my recent trip east for the Christmas holiday!

La Tuna Brush Fire, Los Angeles - Sept. 2, 2017

A fast-moving brush fire has consumed over 5,000 acres in the hills just north of Los Angeles threatening homes in nearby communities. "Wheatland IC" LAFD Brush Fire - May 23, 2016

At about 2:20pm on May 23, 2016 the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a fast moving brush fire in the 11300 block of Wheatland Avenue in the Lakeview Terrance area of Los Angeles.  With the assistance of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Angeles Forest resources the fire, seated in rough terrain, was kept to nearly 200 acres.  An arson suspect is reportedly in custody.  © Craig Durling

"Tujunga IC" LAFD Major Emergency Auto Recycling Yard Fire - April 17, 2016

At about 4pm on April 17, 2016 the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an auto recycling yard fire at 9128 Tujunga Avenue in Pacoima.  The blaze ultimately escalated to a Major Emergency, bringing in over 140 firefighters and consuming hundreds of automobiles.

"San Fernando IC" LAFD Airplane Crash - February 22, 2016

At just before 2pm on February 22, 2016 the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported physical rescue traffic collision at San Fernando and Osborne in Pacoima. While en route the call was updated to a small aircraft down in the roadway. Arriving units found a single engine aircraft down in the roadway at San Fernando and Correnti. Two parked vehicles were apparently struck, tearing a piece of the aircraft's landing gear off. Early reports were that the pilot experienced a wind event causing him to put the aircraft down. "Sepulveda IC" LAFD Major Emergency Motel Fire - February 14, 2016

At just after 2:00pm on February 14, 2016 the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on scene of a vacant 2-story motel at 6445 Sepulveda Blvd. in Van Nuys and reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of "The Voyager Motor Inn". Moments later the fire escalated to a "Major Emergency" incident and, following structural collapses, LAFD went into defensive ops. It took hours to control the blaze which consumed most of the complex. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. © Craig Durling/DurlingMedia

"Denker IC" LAFD Major Emergency Recycling Yard Fire - December 12, 2015

At about 11:00 am on the morning of December 12th, 2015 the Los Angeles City Fire Department, along with assistance from LACoFD and Torrance Fire Departments battled a major emergency fire in a recycling yard at 20502 Denker Ave in the Harbor Strip area of Los Angeles.
